His life has been one of hardship and pain, which shows up clearly on the CD, but it is also a blessing that he is still alive for it's impending release. All Cambridge ever wanted was to showcase his song writing skills, but in his younger years, dad was not having any of it. He and my mother came from another time, another place.
For more than 30 years, Cambridge toiled as a bread salesman, hopping in and out of bread trucks six days a week, so much so that is big toe has been rendered useless, forcing him to go on disability. But even through all the hurt, pain and disappointment, the dream survived and in less than 3 weeks, the world will hear a fresh, new voice.
Even though we've had major disagreements in the past, I stand here tonight to defend my brother, through all the ups and downs, a dream is about to give birth and I can sense a change for the good in all of us for Cambridge Jenkins III has finally come of age in the 21st century.
